The Free State Department of Economic Development and Tourism (Besta) attended the Mining Indaba 2025 in Cape Town to come into contact with potential investors, while presenting the presentation of the available investment opportunities in the Free State.
According to Desta, the MEC for Finance, Economic Development and Tourism, Ketso Makume emphasized that minerals play an important role in the province, because this contributes to provincial economic development and industrial growth.
“The free state is rich in minerals such as gold, platinum and manganese, which are essential for various industries. These minerals are not only crucial for local industries, but also have a global question, especially with the increasing focus on green technologies and renewable energy, “he said.
Makume stated that the cooperation between India and the free state will offer countless opportunities, because the growing economy of India and the Focus on sustainable development fits in well with the mineral wealth of free state.
“By investing in the mining sector of the free state, India can secure a stable stock of critical minerals, support the sectors of production and technology and promote economic ties between the two regions,” Makume added.
Makume focused the high committee of India on the subject, unlocks the future: critical minerals and opportunities, in which he noticed that the cooperation between India and the free state in the pharmaceutical sector can lead to considerable mutual benefits.
The mining Indaba 2025 is organized in the Cape Town International Convention Center (CTICC) from 3-6 February 2025.
