Botlokwa Sergeant charged with double murder after family dispute | Review

POLOKWANE – Police Sergeant Constance Mosibudu Sathekge (49) now faces two counts of murder following the alleged fatal shooting of her son and his girlfriend.

The Polokwane Review-Observer previously reported that Sathekge was arrested last Thursday night (February 13) after allegedly shooting and killing her son (25) and injuring his 16-year-old girlfriend at her residence in Mokomene Mashaha.

Sathekge appeared before the Morebeng Magistrate’s Court yesterday.

National Prosecuting Authority regional spokesperson Mashudu Malabi-Dzhangi confirmed that both the deceased, Khutso Sathekge (son) and Naledi Mmonwa (his girlfriend), sustained multiple gunshot wounds and were rushed to the hospital.

“Both victims succumbed to their injuries upon arrival,” her statement read.

Following the incident, Sathekge contacted the police and provided an account of what had transpired after a heated argument with her son.

“The matter has been postponed to February 24 for a formal bail application. The accused remains in custody,” Malabi-Dzhangi added.
