While lion sightings are quite a common occurrence in the stunning landscape of Kruger National Park, witnessing a cub birth is quite unique.
Latest Sightings reports this miracle of animal life moment was recently caught on camera by a game ranger of the MalaMala game reserve in Mpumalanga.
According to Getaway, game ranger Mrisho Lugenge and his group stumbled upon a pregnant lioness and found her walking along the plains of the bush. As she kept restlessness strolling to and fro, they quickly realised the animal was exhibiting strange behaviour.
As the lioness lay down and moved her body to adjust to a more comfortable position, the group realised what they were about to witness. As her belly contracted and her head rested on the ground, they were watching the lioness in the midst of labour.
