Senior Limpopo traffic official strangled while exercising, four arrested | Review

LIMPOPO – The provincial police commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has applauded the meticulous work of the investigators in Vhembe District following the swift apprehension of four suspects who allegedly killed a senior Limpopo traffic officer.

Mbulaheni Patrick Netshidzivhani, a senior provincial inspector attached to the Mutale Traffic Station, was reported missing on Sunday (January 12) after he left home in Hamakhuvha village, went to the Khunguni mountain to exercise and never returned.

The matter was reported to the police and an investigation led to the recovery of Netshidzivhani’s vehicle.

“Four suspects, three men and a woman were arrested and the inspector’s body was retrieved from the mountain shortly after,” police spokesperson Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba said.

He added that while a post-mortem is yet to be conducted, preliminary reports indicate the deceased was strangled to death.

Hadebe has reassured the community that the police will work hard to get to the bottom of this “senseless and brutal killing.”

The suspects will appear before the Mutale Magistrate’s Court soon facing murder charges.
