Fire danger alert for North-West continues | Potchefstroom Herald

The prolonged heatwave with strong winds has caused the fire danger warning for the North-West to be extended.

Extreme fire conditions in the province persists, with areas categorized as red (extremely dangerous) and orange (very dangerous).

Rethabile Mosiane, Public Information Officer for the North West Umbrella Fire Protection Association, says they urge residents to co-operate.

“We urge all residents to exercise extreme vigilance and co-operate fully to prevent fires and protect our communities. The safety of our residents remains our top priority.”

A fire ban is still in place for the province at this stage.
