POLOKWANE – Many motorists will be preparing for the long drive between Pretoria and Polokwane and to other parts of Limpopo this festive season.
Thousands of motorists make use of the N1 on a daily basis and the festive season is no exception, with high traffic volumes expected between Gauteng and Musina via Polokwane and the R71 between Polokwane and Tzaneen.
The six main toll gates on this route include Nyl, Kranskop, Carousel and Pumulani going south and the Baobab and Capricorn when travelling north.
A round trip from Polokwane to Pretoria will cost R434 while a round trip from Polokwane to Musina will cost R232.
The MEC for Transport and Community Safety, Violet Mathye recently launched the festive season road safety campaign.
Mathye, in her address, outlined the department’s plans and activities to deal with lawlessness on major roads across the province.
She encouraged motorists to always obey road rules and look out for pedestrians.
