THE NORTHERN Cape archery community is celebrating a year of remarkable achievements even while they prepare for an even more exciting 2025 season.
Reflecting on the growth and success of the sport in the region, AGA-NC Provincial Coordinator, Dawid de Greeff, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to archers, coordinators, and coaches for their dedication and commitment during the year.
“As we prepare for the 2025 archery season, it is a great time to reflect on the progress made in the Northern Cape over the past year,” said de Greeff. “Your commitment to personal growth – physically, mentally, and socially – has been commendable.
“This passion for archery has significantly contributed to the sport’s rapid growth in the Northern Cape.”

The region is set to cheer on new national team members Hezekiah Lodewyk and Athrah Arnold, who will join the World Tournament in July 2025, alongside experienced teammates.
The past year also saw significant strides in the development of archery in the Province. With nine established clubs and plans for more – including potential clubs at Boshof Combined School and Sol Plaatje University – AGA-NC is committed to expanding opportunities for aspiring archers.
Competitions hosted by local clubs celebrated archers’ talent, awarding certificates, medals, and trophies. In addition, the province successfully organised major events, such as the 2024 AGA-SA National Tournament and the 2022 International Virtual Tournament.
As the organisation looks ahead, it seeks passionate individuals to fill vital roles in the AGA-NC Committee. Positions such as vice-provincial Coordinator, Secretary, and Marketing and Sponsorships offer opportunities to support and shape the future of archery in the Northern Cape.
