Limpopo songstress Ntsikwane Raphesu set to release third album | Review

POLOKWANE – Polokwane-based songstress Ntsikwane Raphesu has returned to the studio to work on her highly anticipated third album, which is expected to drop later this year.

The Afro-folk singer, songwriter, and guitarist is excited to share her new music with fans and has already lined up live performances on Christmas and New Year’s Eve.

Growing up in a musically-inclined family, Raphesu’s love for music was nurtured from a young age. Her late father, a self-taught pianist and singer, encouraged her to pursue a career in music, despite not being able to do so himself.

Raphesu’s musical inspiration is deeply rooted in her family, and she credits her father for instilling in her a passion for music.

As a multi-talented artist, Raphesu not only sings but also plays the guitar, a skill she has been honing in recent years.

She is also a skilled songwriter, penning all her own lyrics, a rare talent in the music industry. Raphesu’s music is inspired by the likes of Sade and Lizz Wright, and her unique sound blends elements of Afro-soul and folk.

In addition to her music, Raphesu is also passionate about the arts, and runs a drama school called Dramatology Performing Arts Academy.

The school offers drama classes to kids aged between seven and 16, and Raphesu is dedicated to nurturing the creative talents of young people.

As a performer, Raphesu has had her fair share of nerves, but she handles them like a professional. With two albums already under her belt, “Wonderful” and “Soul Experiment”, Raphesu is eager to share her new music with fans.

Her third album, which may be titled “Lesedi”, promises to be just as captivating as her previous releases.

Raphesu’s fans can look forward to catching her live performances on Christmas and New Year’s Eve, where she will be playing her guitar and singing some of her favorite tunes.

She usually performs at weddings during the festive season, and also hosts car-boot sessions at local car dealers, parks, and other entertainment venues.
