POLOKWANE – The Limpopo Impalas women’s cricket team, the Lillies, hosted the Eastern Storm in a CSA Women’s Provincial One-Day match on November 23. Despite their best efforts, the Lillies suffered a 76-run defeat.
The Eastern Storm won the toss and chose to bat first. Opening batswomen Kayleigh Craig (18 runs) and Thelma Makhubela (27 runs) were both caught out by Shelfa Mukhari of the Lillies. Easterns’ innings were bolstered by Mieke van Voorst, who was unbeaten with 65 runs, and Robyn Dormehl, who contributed 48 before being caught by Mukhari.
Lillies’ bowler Itumeleng Manyaga was a standout performer, taking three wickets.

After the innings break, the Lillies’ batting lineup faced some challenges. Openers Dimakatso Tsotetsi and Pabalo Mogofe faced Easterns bowlers Tsholofelo Marema and Makgotso Sessing.
Unfortunately, Tsotetsi, Khushi Mistry, Tshepang Kilelo, and Shelfa Mukhari were all dismissed without scoring. Koketso Manyaga led the Lillies’ batting effort with a solid 43 runs, while her sister, Itumeleng Manyaga, remained not out but was unable to score after nine balls before the match concluded.
Easterns’ Mieke van Voorst also performed well as a bowler, claiming four wickets, contributing to her team’s victory.
