JOHANNESBURG – Thirteen people have died in two horrific accidents in the Free State.
In the first tragedy, ten people were killed on Sunday morning when a taxi collided with a truck on the N1, south of Koppies, towards Kroonstad.
A truck driver and taxi passenger survived the crash and were rushed to a nearby hospital.
In the second incident, three people, including a nine-year-old child, were killed on Saturday evening when two bakkies collided on the R30 between Allanridge and Odendaalsrus.
The cause of both accidents remains unclear and authorities are now investigating.
