NORTH WEST – There might still be hundreds of illegal miners holed up underground in North West.
Police and provincial officials last week forced thousands of them to resurface in the Khuma, Orkney, and Stilfontein areas.

But reports suggest that there might be more who are too weak to comply with police orders.
Most of the zama zamas arrested were found to be foreign nationals without documentation, and they are being prepared for deportation.
