WATCH | Illegal mining | Extraction mission resumes in Stilfontein

STILFONTEIN – Mining experts and community leaders have been roped in to find a solution to the impasse between law enforcement and illegal miners underground at an abandoned mine in Stifontein. 

Rescue workers are assessing the safety of the mine shaft, and cameras will be deployed to confirm the number of illegal miners who are still underground.

Police insist they will apprehend those illegal miners as soon as they resurface.
