WATCH | A former lecturer and a childhood friend talk on Mboweni’s formative days

 

LIMPOPO – Former Finance Minister and Reserve Bank Governor Tito Mboweni is being laid to rest on Saturday.

The 65-year-old died at Milpark Hospital in Johannesburg a week ago,

following a short illness.

He’s been honoured with a Special Official Funeral Category 2 in Limpopo.

Mboweni was democratic South Africa’s first Labour Minister,

serving in Nelson Mandela’s cabinet between 1994 and 1999.

eNCA’s Gareth Edwards spoke to Simeon Mushwana, a childhood friend of the late former minister and Sehoai Santo, Mboweni’s former lecturer.
