The Prime Minister of the Free State hits back after the CEO accuses her of corruption – LNN – Network News

Free State Premier Maqueen Letsoha-Mathae is facing another backlash after a screenshot posted by New Beginnings Project CEO Patrick Phuti was seen on social media accusing the Prime Minister of participating in corruption.

In the screenshot, Phuti accuses the Prime Minister of mismanagement of the funds given to her, on the grounds that Letsoha-Mathae and her husband, MMM speaker Lawrence Mathae, claim that the couple used funds given to them by Phuti and the CEO of Tau Pele. .

Phuti expressed disgust and anger towards the Prime Minister, claiming that she was using his project as an example to discredit the CEO and make him look like a failure.

“I paid bills and transported people who came with you to the Women’s League conference. I bought a car for the Mathae family – V 300 class, black, to be precise – I paid over R400,000 for your event when you launched the same project, but today it’s like nothing ever happened,” Phuti said.

The Prime Minister released a statement claiming that the allegations are baseless. “The Prime Minister wishes to categorically disassociate herself from these malicious and baseless allegations leveled against her and requests the person(s) from the said establishment to approach law enforcement agencies to file charges in support of his allegations,” the statement said.

Letsoha-Mathae has now taken legal action regarding this matter and states that its legal representatives have sent a formal letter to the CEO of New Beginnings, requesting that due process be followed and that any further communication, if necessary , will be done through her lawyers.

Letsoha-Mathae said she remains committed to clean governance and further said service providers who have failed to complete projects will have no space in her administration.
