Mpumalanga boy makes it to national U17 team | Mpumalanga News

Sinani United Football Club’s goalkeeper and third captain has joined Amajimbos, South Africa’s national U17 team. Brendan Langa said getting a spot in the Amajimbos is a dream come true for him. He said it feels good to wear the national jersey, and he wants to put in the work to make his country and team proud.

Brendan is currently doing Grade 11 at Portia Shabangu High School, but started playing in Tekwane Primary and Tekwane Sports Academy. He is currently playing for Sinani United in the Forek U17 League.

According to him, he was selected because of his dedication, strategic planning and competitive experience.

“I play very hard. I seek guidance from the right people and my support system helps me to stay focused. When an opportunity came in, I gave it my all.” Brendan said his dream is to play in Europe.

Cyril Morele, Sinani United Football Club’s head coach, said he is pleased for Brendan. He said the leadership skills Brendan portrays are good, and he is sharing what he is learning on the national platform with the other players. Morele said Brendan has a long way to go in his career.
