EFF boss Julius Malema called the Umkhonto Wesizwe party (MK) an “old age hostel” that does not scare him.
Malema lashed out after EFF Limpopo chair Tshilidzi Maraga jumped ship to join the MK party, claiming she had been unfairly labelled as lazy.
Malema hit back: “All @EFFSouthAfrica public representatives conduct oversight visits as part of their constituency work. Those who believe they can escape accountability through laziness are mistaken.
“We will take action against any such behaviour, regardless of any threats of joining the old age hostel. Rest assured, there will be no tolerance for laziness.”
Maraga says she felt ignored by the EFF and denies slacking off.
The EFF is bleeding leaders and members to Zuma’s party.
KZN’s EFF labour desk and big names like former EFF deputy president Floyd Shivhambu and Mzwanele Jimmy Manyi have also left to join the MK party that won the third most votes in the 29 May general elections.
The EFF and MK are part of the Progressive Caucus, which collectively holds approximately 25% of the seats in the National Assembly, and also includes the United Africans Transformation and African Transformation Movement.
Its goal was to bring down the GNU, which has the ANC and the DA as major partners.
But it seems the EFF and MK can’t get along in their bid to make a dent in the governing coalition.
