Limpopo’s Mighty Messengers seek support for tourney | Review

POLOKWANE – Limpopo’s Mighty Messengers soccer club is set to represent the province at the prestigious Ibercup South Africa tournament, to be held in Sandton, Johannesburg, from December 12-16. The tournament promotes youth development through sport, aiming to create a lasting positive impact on young South Africans.

To participate, the team needs to raise R40 000 to cover essential costs, including accommodation, transport and meals for the five-day event. The club is also seeking donations for a new soccer kit, including jerseys, soccer balls, and training equipment.

Koketso Shapo, the founder of Mighty Messengers, and also a modeling coach said they are working on developing boys from ages nine to 19, helping them to stay fit, active, and out of trouble. “Our goal is to keep them off the streets and away from substance abuse, which is a serious issue in our community.”

The team appeals to businesses, organisations and individuals for support, whether through financial donations or equipment sponsorships. “Any help from companies, government, or private donors would be greatly appreciated,” Shapo added.

Those interested in supporting the Mighty Messengers, can make donations or enquiries through Koketso Shapo via WhatsApp or by calling 076 050 9207.
