The Deputy Principal of a Gauteng high school has been shot dead at a mall in Daveyton.
The provincial education department said the official was killed at Chris Hani Mall on Tuesday, while attending a meeting related to a case involving one of his colleagues.
Gauteng Education MEC, Matome Chiloane, said police were investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
“We are heartbroken by this senseless killing of our dedicated educator and leader in our education community. Our deepest sympathies are with his loved ones during this incredibly difficult time,” Chiloane said.
