Food safety | 27 Mpumalanga pupils discharged from hospital

JOHANNESBURG – Almost 30 Mpumalanga pupils were hospitalised on Thursday after eating snacks allegedly bought at a local shop.

The Enzani Primary School pupils complained of abdominal pain before being rushed to Rob Ferreira Hospital.

They have since been discharged.

This is not the first case of food poisoning in the province.

Mpumalanga Health MEC Sasekani Manzini said they are concerned about the incidents in the province.

“Tests have been taken for further investigation,” she said.

“We are on alert and we’re working with key stakeholders to make sure that our children are safe.”
