EFF claims lawlessness in SA a result of police being ‘embedded’ with criminals

JOHANNESBURG – The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has hit out at police for what it called failures to get a handle on lawlessness across the country.

The criticism comes after victims of the Lusikisiki massacre were laid to rest in Eastern Cape this past weekend.

A total of 18 people were gunned down in Ngobozana village two weeks ago during a family gathering.

The local community has since raised concerns about the spate of crimes in the area.

EFF spokesperson Leigh-Ann Mathys has placed blame on the police’s doorstep, accusing law enforcement of being in cahoots with criminals.

“Lawlessness is the result of police officers and police officials being embedded with these criminals.”
