Crime in SA | Matric pupils raped, robbed in Eastern Cape

BITYI – Police have launched a manhunt for a horrendous mass rape in Mthatha.

It’s believed five matric pupils were raped and robbed in on Tuesday night.

The pupils were staying in rented accommodation near their school.

In a separate incident, Queen Mother Mtirara of eMqhekezweni Great Place, known for her outspoken stance against local extortionists, was shot dead at her home.

The Provincial Commissioner of the Eastern Cape, Lieutenant General Nomthetheli Mene, said police are working around the clock to apprehend those behind the two attacks.
