JOHANNESBURG – Joburg mayor Dada Morero says the water situation in Johannesburg is part of a greater national crisis that requires immediate action.
He says water restrictions are needed to encourage responsible usage by residents.
Morero detailed the steps the metro is taking to address the supply challenges.
“The water situation is a crisis,” he said.
“We must implement restrictions so that we start saying to our residents you can’t use drinking water for irrigation or to water your garden, car wash etc.
“And that is the message we are trying to put across so that we can reduce water usage and water consumption.”
