JOHANNESBURG – Three people have died after heavy storms hit parts of Mpumalanga over the weekend.
Dozens of schools have also been damaged.
The downpours, accompanied by strong winds, left a trail of destruction, in some areas of Nkomazi, Bushbuckridge and Mbombela.

The roofs of houses and schools were blown off, and walls collapsed elsewhere.
The power supply has been cut, and some roads are still not accessible.
As the provincial authorities assess the extent of the damage, communities are being urged to take precautions and remain vigilant.
More rains have been forecast in the province.
