This comes after SA Forest Adventures introduced their newest attraction, the K3, just 5km from Caledon.

This record-breaking 3.2km zipline, which has been officially signed off by an independent engineer, offers a memorable experience soaring above some of South Africa’s most breathtaking landscapes. 

For Clinton Lerm, owner of SA Forest Adventures, which operates four other ziplines in the Cape, this marks the culmination of a long process.

‘I spent two years searching for suitable sites across South Africa. The location needed to be logistically practical and easily accessible,’ says Lerm.

‘One day, I saw towers on top of a mountain, indicating a road was already built to the summit. Riding up the mountain with a farmer, I knew this was the perfect spot for the world’s longest zipline. However, thorough calculations and considerations, like wind direction, were necessary.’

The ride outperforms the previous record holder, Jais Flight in the UAE, by roughly 400m

The experience begins with an adventurous 7km 4×4 trip up the mountain with breathtaking vistas before taking flight on the K3 zipline.

To ensure safety, individuals must weigh between 50kg and 120kg. With only 24 spaces available per day during the first month, it is critical to reserve your spot early. The full journey, including the zipline and a ride on the ‘Red Rattle’ tractor, will last around an hour.

Clinton Lerm, the mastermind behind SA Forest Adventures, spent years looking for the ideal place.
