This was the game of the day with both teams displaying a high intensity game of basketball – much to the delight of those watching. It was top-notch basketball, attack after attack with Sedibeng Basketball Team inspired by Muhuliseni Madzhinga and Siphiwe Mthombeni who played as small-forward and point-guard respectively.
The two were all over the court in attack and defence, however, always in trouble from their coach if they considered a goal or committed a foul.
It was an exciting game of basketball to watch with all of the ingredients of the game, from defence to attack and goals.

Muhuliseni had a fun-fill day scoring some incredible goals, shaking the pole every time he scored – to the point where one of the officials warned him that he would break it. His strength was too much for his opponents attacking from deep even though his coach was frustrated. He told Muhuliseni on more than two occasions not to drop too deep in defence.
Mthombeni was another victim of a tongue lashing from coach Tau Takarupiwa after he committed a foul. He was kicking his heels with frustration on the touchline but at the same time also admired how his team played.
Muhuliseni and Mthombeni were the best players for Sedibeng on the day. Their work rate was untouchable, carrying the team on their big shoulders both in attack and defence.
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Jappie Hlalele said this basketball league was the first of its kind Sedibeng hosted. “As the Sedibeng Basketball Association we are very grateful to host the league. For the past two days we experienced a high level of basketball,” said Hlalele.
