The South African Democratic Teachers’ Union in the Free State welcomes and congratulates Dr Mantlhake Julia Maboya on her appointment as the new MEC for Education.
Dr Maboya is not new to the education sector. He was a lecturer at a college for initial teacher training, chief director of curriculum in the province and later joined the Ministry of Basic Education as deputy director of curriculum, assessment and examinations.
Dr. Maboya inherits a department that has performed exceptionally well and consistently for many years. This excellent performance has been sustained through the collective work of faculty, SMTs and civil servants at all levels.
As SADTU in the province we commit our support to the MEC and look forward to a meeting where she will share her vision for the department. We look forward to a good working relationship with her.
