N4 via Elands Valley still closed following truck accident | Mpumalanga News

An articulated truck transporting coal overturned on the N4 via Elands Valley between the Hemlock intersection and Sappi before 11:00 today, September 25. No fatalities have been reported.

Both lanes are obstructed, resulting in a full enclosure of the road.

The diesel spillage where the truck overturned on the N4 via Elands Valley.

During the accident, diesel and coal spilled on the road. A clean-up of the fuel was the first priority followed by that of the coal.

The truck that overturned was transporting coal.

Van Wettens Breakdown Services only started turning the truck over after that.

An estimated time of reopening has not been made available, but the recovery continues. Meanwhile, motorists are advised to use alternative routes to avoid delays.
