It is alleged that 60-year-old farmer Olivier, farm supervisor De Wet (19), and farm employee Musora (45), a Zimbabwean national, killed two women and dumped their bodies in a pigsty.

National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson Mashudu Malabi-Dzhangi said the state applied for a stated case for the purpose of appeal in terms of section 310(1) of Act 51 of 1977 in pursuit of a decision of the magistrate where he made an order in favour of one of the accused, Olivier, in terms of which the state was ordered to furnish Olivier, with a copy of his statement that he made to the police upon his arrest.

The state has received reasons for judgment on September 2, however, the reasons do not set forth the question of law.

She added that the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has issued a certificate indicating that the bail application hearing be held in the Regional Court of Polokwane. The matter was postponed to October 2.

The three accused were remanded in custody.
