WATCH | Cholota has means to avoid trial if granted bail – State

JOHANNESBURG – The state alleges that Moraadi Cholota set up a base and network to survive outside South Africa’s borders.

The state is opposing her bail application at the Bloemfontein magistrate’s court, arguing that Cholota has been out of the country since 2020 and that she can survive without seeing her child or family members.

The hearing on her request for bail has been postponed until later this week.

Former personal assistant to Free State Premier Ace Magashule has been charged with fraud, corruption and money laundering in connection with the R255 million asbestos project.

Siphamandla Goge from eNCA explains it in the video above.
