WATCH | Bus driver fingered in preliminary probe

MPUMALANGA – The Railway Safety Regulator says the driver of the school bus involved in a collision with a train in Mpumalanga did not adhere to the road signage at the level crossing.

This is part of its preliminary findings about the crash at the Arnot Level Crossing last week.

The regulator says the protection signage there was largely compliant with the prescribed safety standards.

Further investigations will be undertaken by the rail operator and road safety authorities.

Six pupils were killed and 20 injured in the collision.
