Technology (TUT) Giyani campus will be operational in 2025. This is the promise from Premier Dr Phophi Ramathuba during the opening of the Limpopo Legislature on Friday. The campus will be based where the Giyani College of Education used to be.
The infrastructure of the former college is currently dilapidated and occupied by illegal squatters. According to the premier, the meeting was highly productive, yielding a positive outlook for this initiative. “We have agreed to hand over the former Giyani College to the TUT.

“What I can assure you, is that by next year, there will be courses that students will be registering for. We can’t wait for the whole refurbishment of the campus and the enrolment of all courses, because that can take a long time. So, we said let us take it step by step because the future of our young people depends on education,” she stated.
The new campus will not only ease the financial and logistical burdens on students and their families but also contribute to the local economy by attracting talent and resources to the region, she said.
