The South African Weather Service has warned of damaging winds and waves in parts of the Eastern Cape.

Impact-based warnings

A yellow level 1 warning for damaging winds and waves, resulting in difficulty in navigation at sea, is expected between Plettenberg Bay and East London in the morning.

Weather in your region 

Gauteng will be fine and cool, but warm in the north.

The expected UVB sunburn index is high.

Fine and cool to warm conditions are forecast for Mpumalanga, but it will be partly cloudy in the east.

It will become cloudy along the escarpment in the evening, with drizzle.

Limpopo will be fine and warm, becoming cloudy in the east in the evening. 

Fine and cool to warm conditions are forecast for North West, while the Free State will be partly cloudy in the southern and western parts at first, otherwise fine and cool.

Northern Cape will see morning fog patches in the west, where it will be partly cloudy, otherwise fine and cool to cold for the rest of the day.

The wind along the coast will be light to moderate southerly, becoming fresh from the afternoon. 

Morning fog patches are forecast for the north-western parts of the Western Cape, otherwise it will be cloudy to partly cloudy and cool to cold, with morning light rain in places along the south-west and south coast.

The wind along the coast will be light to moderate north-westerly, becoming fresh to strong in the south-west in the evening.

The expected UVB sunburn index is low.

The western half of the Eastern Cape will be partly cloudy and cool to cold, with isolated showers and rain along the coast and adjacent interior in the morning.

The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-westerly, reaching strong in places in the morning.

It will become light and variable in the evening.

The eastern half of the province will be partly cloudy and cold to cool, with drizzle and fog patches south-east of the escarpment in the morning.

The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-westerly, reaching strong.

It will become light to moderate north-easterly in the evening.

KwaZulu-Natal will be cloudy and cool, with isolated showers and rain in the east.

The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly to south-westerly.

The expected UVB sunburn index is low.
