A 27-year-old male suspect is expected to appear before the Bolobedu Magistrate’s court today, in court in connection with the alleged murder of his girlfriend at Marotholong section, Ga-Sekgopo.
Limpopo police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba says the suspect was arrested on Wednesday this week.
The victim identified as Morongwa Mootane had been reported missing by her family this week, after they realised she had not been seen since July 2024.
It alleged the boyfriend has confessed to stabbing the victim to death with a knife and then buried her in a shallow grave at the nearest bushes.
Meanwhile concerned residents of Ga-Sekgopo say the local satellite police station in the area must operate for 24 hours.
A resident, Prince Nyathi says the discovery of Morongwa’s body highlights a need for present police officers as these issues have been persisting in the area.
The aunt of the deceased, Rachel Mootane, says her niece was full of life and they want justice must be served.
