Former PA to Ace Magashule expected to appear in court

BLOOMMONTEIN – The former PA of former Free State Premier Ace Magashule will appear in court on Monday morning.

Moraadi Cholota will appear in Bloemfontein for the first time after being extradited from the US.

As a state witness, Cholota would break the roof on the multi-million rand asbestos procurement scandal.

However, she moved to the US and refused to cooperate with the investigation.

The NPA subsequently charged her and issued an arrest warrant against her.

In cooperation with Interpol, Cholota was arrested in April and was ordered to appear in court in Maryland.

She tried to block the extradition at the Constitutional Court, but failed.

Cholota is expected to file a petition for bail.

The remaining suspects, including five companies, will appear in court again on April 15, 2025.

Cholota’s cousin says her arrest is devastating for the family.
