Five dead in head-on collision in Senekal, Free State

JOHANNESBURG – Five people were killed when the vehicles they were travelling in collided in Senekal in the Free State on Friday evening.

The accident probably took place on the R707, near Marquard.

According to officials from the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC), the vehicles were travelling in opposite directions when the accident occurred.

RTMC spokesperson Simon Zwane said it was not yet clear what caused the accident, but that an investigation was underway.

“Information indicates that the vehicles were travelling in different directions when they collided, killing two men and three women.”
