EC Student Shines as Finalist at Miss National South Africa Pageant

With a passion for community service and a commitment to inspiring others, Liyema Landu is poised to make a significant impact at the Miss National South Africa 2024 pageant.

Eastern Cape, South Africa (19 August 2024) – Walter Sisulu University student Liyema Landu is shining bright as a finalist in the prestigious Miss National South Africa 2024 pageant.

The pageant, renowned for its focus on women’s empowerment and leadership, aligns perfectly with Landu’s aspirations.

A dedicated community leader, Landu’s involvement in organisations such as Enactus and Amakhosazana ASE WSU underscores her commitment to making a positive impact. As she competes for the coveted title, Landu aims to represent her community and champion women’s empowerment on a national platform.

According to the university, Landu was born in Ngcobo and is currently in her third year of studies at the Faculty of Natural Science. She is a BSc chemistry student and is dedicated to both academics and personal growth.

Liyema’s journey in the pageant world has been impressive, earning titles such as Miss Intombi Yomhlanga 2023, Miss Qhumanco 2021, Miss Black Diamond Ambassador 1st Princess 2021, and Miss Ngcobo LTO 2019.

“Being in pageantry is not just about beauty; it’s about standing firm and proud of being my real self,” Landu said.

Landu’s participation in Miss National South Africa 2024 is driven by her desire to push beyond the limitations of her disadvantaged background.

She believes that with faith and love, one can achieve greatness not just for oneself but for the community.

Landu encourages aspiring models to stay true to themselves and believe in their dreams.

“Everything is possible with belief and action,” she advises.

Reaching the Miss National South Africa 2024 finals is a dream come true, and she’s excited to compete for the crown.

The grand finale will be held in Durban on August 31, where the 22 year old hopes to inspire young women nationwide as she continues her journey as a role model.
