Six arrested with unlicensed firearms in Soneike, Kuils River | News24


All six occupants of the vehicle, between the ages of 30 and 34 years old, were arrested for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.

Kuils River police arrested six people in the early hours of Tuesday morning (30 July) in Soneike, Kuils River with unlicensed firearms and ammunition.

Local police spokesperson, WO Liesel Beukes said one of their patrol vehicles was driving in Annandale Street around 04:00 when they spotted a silver Suzuki Ertiga with several occupants driving suspiciously slow.

“The patrol members called for backup to stop and search the vehicle,” Beukes said when backup arrived and the vehicle was pulled over the officers found one 9 mm PX9 firearm with sixteen rounds in the magazine as well as one 9 mm star firearm with four rounds in the magazine, under the back seat.

All six occupants of the vehicle, between the ages of 30 and 34 years old, were arrested for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition. They will appear at Blue Downs Magistrate’s Court on Thursday 1 August.
