SAGDB GolfSixes League Mpumalanga 2024 – Golf RSA

Fun. Friendship. Fierce Competition.

Ahead of the inaugural Africa Amateur Championship in February 2024, officials of the R&A enjoyed the action as top two South African Golf Development Board (SAGDB) teams from the Mpumalanga chapter went head-to-head in the SAGDB GolfSixes League final at the National Junior Development Centre (NJDC) Par-3 course adjacent to the iconic Leopard Creek.

Each team consisted of six players playing the Texas Scramble Format in pairs. The day concluded with each player receiving a medal, ensuring all participants felt valued and appreciated.

“Through the support of the R&A, GolfRSA aims to introduce young beginners to the game through the introduction of the GolfSixes League South Africa,” said GolfRSA CEO and SAGDB Managing Director Grant Hepburn.

“Thanks to the amazing effort of the SAGDB Mpumalanga chapter manager Edwin Compton, we enjoyed a day was filled with excitement and laughter for all the kids involved and the R&A officials who came to support the action. This initiative really underlines the GolfSixes League’s mission of making golf accessible to all, regardless of background.

“The SAGDB GolfSixes League Mpumalanga final truly showcased the joy of playing golf and the friendships formed on the course, highlighting the positive impact of sport on young lives.”
