Released Kaizer Chiefs defender spotted at Gauteng rivals

Former Kaizer Chiefs defender S’fiso Hlanti has been spotted at the SuperSport United training grounds.

According to SABC Sport, Hlanti reported for training on Thursday morning to reunite with his former coach at Bidvest Wits Gavin Hunt.

However, the publication states Hlanti is merely keeping fit with SuperSport United as he awaits his next move.

The former Bafana Bafana international is currently a free agent after he was released by Chiefs in June.

His relationship with Hunt made it easy for SuperSport United to allow him to train with the rest of the squad.

Nonetheless, the door is not entirely closed for Hlanti at Matsatsantsa who are set to lose defender Kegan Johannes to Mamelodi Sundowns.

FORMER KAIZER CHIEFS DEFENDER HLANTI RESURFACES AT SUPERSPORT UNITED

“Former Kaizer Chiefs left-back Sifiso Hlanti has resurfaced at SuperSport United, with SABC Sport informed the player is merely training with the Tshwane side,” reads part of the report.

“Hlanti reported for training on Thursday morning and the door is open for SuperSport to take him on board as a free agent, though word at present is that he is only keeping fit until potential suitors are sought out.”

HUNT AND ARENDSE SIGN NEW DEALS

Meanwhile, Hlanti’s arrival at the SuperSport United training base comes at a time when both Gavin Hunt and Andre Arendse are in high spirits.

The two coaches recently penned two-year extensions with the Tshwane giants after the board showed confidence in them.

Hunt is into his third season since returning to SuperSport United whom he won the league title with three times in a row between 2008 and 2010.
