A 67-year-old KwaZulu-Natal grandmother and her 3-year-old granddaughter sustained critical injuries after being attacked by a Rottweiler, paramedics said on Thursday.
Samantha Meyrick, from privately-owned first responder company – IPSS Medical Rescue, said they attended to the two victims at the scene of the attack in KwaDukuza, KwaZulu-Natal.
“Both patients were stabilised on scene by IPSS Medical Rescue and transported to a nearby hospital under the care of an IPSS Medical Rescue advanced life-support paramedic,” she said.
Meyrick said the circumstances surrounding the attack were unknown, but it was expected that police would investigate.
