JOHANNESBURG – Johannesburg residents may soon have a new mayor.
This as the ANC Johannesburg caucus is likely to reclaim the mayoral chain in a city confronted by many challenges.
Meanwhile, its likely that Action SA may work with the ANC in Gauteng in efforts to stabilise some of its key municipalities.
In 2023 the City of Johannesburg had two mayors from AL Jama-ah including Kabelo Gwamanda and Thapelo Amad.

Their reign of power may soon come to an end with Sello Enoch Dada Morero who served as the Mayor of Johannesburg for 25 days – coming back to office.
Al Jama-ah says they’ve been made aware of the possible removal of Gwamanda – adding that its a rumour peddled in the media.
It’s Gauteng chairperson says it would be unfortunate if it happened.
Meanwhil, the ANC in Gauteng says they’re yet to receive direction from the regional executive committee of the ANC regarding who they’d want to be mayor.
