DStv Premiership newcomers Magesi FC may sign a former Kaizer Chiefs defender soon. Yagan Sasman is in Limpopo.
MAGESI FC TO SIGN FORMER KAIZER CHIEFS DEFENDER YAGAN SASMAN?
According to FARPost, the 28-year-old is clubless after leaving AFC Eskilstuna in Sweden. “Former Moroka Swallows and Kaizer Chiefs defender Yagan Sasman is trying his luck with the DStv Premiership newcomers Magesi FC as the new season is fast approaching,” the report said.
Additionally, the same outlet revealed that two former Kaizer Chiefs players Darrel Matsheke and Kgaogelo Sekgota are also training under the watchful eye of coach Clinton Larsen.
“As reported by this publication a few weeks ago, two ex-Amakhosi players have been linked with moves to Dikwena tša Meetse. The two are Darrel Matsheke and Kgaogelo Sekgota, who are midfielders,” the report added.
KELETSO SIFAMA AT CAPE TOWN SPURS
Careers go on after Kaizer Chiefs. One of Amakhosi‘s record-breakers, Keletso Sifama, has been spotted at Cape Town Spurs.
Sifama is a famous Glamour Boy for breaking Wiseman Meyiwa’s senior debut record of 17 years, 8 months, and 17 days. The 21-year-old from Katlehong was later loaned to Maritzburg United before a permanent move to Casric Stars in the lower division. The attacker made just five appearances for Sekhukhune United in the Dstv Premiership last season. Meanwhile, The SouthAfrican exclusively spotted the former Kaizer Chiefs star at Ikamva training under the watchful eye of his former coach Ernst Middendorp.
It remains to be seen if the Motsepe Foundation Championship (MFC) side will announce a deal or not.
ITUMELENG KHUNE
Meanwhile, Amakhosi are yet to make any announcement on Itumeleng Khune’s future. Experienced brand and marketing expert Sgwili Gumede has urged Khune to stay at Amakhosi.
“He’s highly popular and very well-liked by the fans,’ Gumede told SABC Sport’s Mazola Molefe.
“Obviously, in the last year, he had one or two issues of this very nature, where they could part, but generally he’s still highly regarded,” said Gumede. “If I was advising him, if what we know publicly is really what’s happening, I would be thinking, ‘Khune, just take an opportunity to work with the club, develop your future leadership career. Whether as part of the technical team or even in the background, where you could potentially be a future sporting director, or a future marketing manager, or whatever the case may be.’”
“But he should start building his [post-playing] career with a giant like [Kaizer] Chiefs, and that would stand him in good stead.
“It’s always difficult to make comments on these things because we just don’t have enough facts to know exactly what his options are, what’s on the table, and what may or may not be happening in terms of other clubs’ offers,” Gumede continued.
“Or maybe Chiefs are also saying to him, you don’t have a playing contract here anymore, but we think that he could join the technical team, as assistant goalkeeper coach or the development as one of the coaches.
“But the reality is that he would be much better off staying at [Kaizer] Chiefs and building his career off the field than anywhere else,” he concluded.
