Fatal accident involving prominent musicians in Free State claims 3 lives: Provincial Health Department

JOHANNESBURG – Three people were killed in a fatal accident in the Free State on Wednesday.

Emergency Management Services (EMS) responded to a fatal accident on the N1, near the Koppies exit.

Upon arrival, the provincial emergency services found a car that had previously collided with a truck.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that there were five passengers in the car, two of whom are in stable condition in hospital. Three others died at the scene.

Further investigation revealed that those involved in the accident were driving from Gauteng on the N1 towards Bloemfontein.

“The department has been reliably informed that the accident involved several prominent musicians at approximately 13:02 hours this afternoon, Wednesday, 24 July 2024,” said Mondli Mvambi, spokesperson for the Free State Department of Health.

“Their managers have been informed and have gone to the scene of the accident and the hospital to get all the details about what happened and who was involved, so that the relatives of those involved in this fatal accident can be informed in a proper way, and not via social media.”
