A trio of Grade 11 pupils from Walmer High School in Gqeberha emerged victorious at a climate change competition, co-funded by the European Union – for developing a DIY green stove that transforms household waste into cooking power.
Young minds from the Eastern Cape, Western Cape, and Northern Cape provinces put their creative thinking skills to the test at the SA Climate Change Champs 2024 Green Opportunities Challenge in Cape Town. Â
This competition, aimed at Grades 9-11 pupils, was a green battleground where eight finalists pitched their innovative solutions to climate-related issues affecting their communities. Â
