BOSA in Gauteng ready to perform opposition role

JOHANNESBURG – As the waiting game for the appointment of Gauteng MECs continues, Build One South Africa (BOSA) said it was ready to perform the opposition role effectively.

The back and forth between the African National Congress (ANC) and Democratic Alliance (DA) over the make up of Premier Panyaza Lesufi’s Cabinet has delayed the work of the provincial legislature.

The two parties are currently in a meeting in an effort to resolve the deadlock in negotiations over the division of portfolios.

Build One South Africa’s Ayanda Allie said she hopes Lesufi will appoint people committed to serving Gauteng residents.

“We as BOSA are ready at the provincial legislature to hold to account anybody who acts or conducts themselves in a manner that is unbefitting of their title and positions. We will just wait and see what the announcement will be but we are standing by to make sure that, as far as opposition politics is concerned, we will work with those in the country who want to build a better South Africa.”
