WESTERN CAPE – While victims of the recent storms in the Western Cape are racing against time to rebuild their homes, the province is expecting to be hit by further inclement weather this afternoon.
The South African Weather Service issued a weather warning for Cape Town and surrounding municipalities.
An Orange Level 5 warning for disruptive rain leading to flooding of roads and settlements, is expected over the City of Cape Town, Cape Winelands and the Theewaterskloof Municipality in the Western Cape.
The province has been battered by torrential rains and gale-force winds in the past few weeks, which has caused flooding and significant damage to infrastructure in various parts of the province.
To discuss this we spoke to Colin Deiner from Western Cape Disaster Management.
