Newly elected KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) Premier Thami Ntuli says crime prevention is his top priority, which is why he has housed the Department of Community Safety and Liaison in his office.

Previously, the department fell under an MEC who also headed the transport portfolio.

In an interview, Ntuli told News24 that crime not only affected citizens at a personal level but that it also dissuaded investors from “devoting much-needed funds to boost our economy”.
