The City of Cape Town’s Disaster Risk Management Centre (DRMC) teams are on high alert after the SA Weather Service (SAWS) issued a Level 4 warning for Tuesday.

“Rainfall accumulation is expected to be 10 to 20 millimetres in most places Monday and Tuesday. Some areas are expected to reach 30 millimetres, including the West Coast District, Cape Winelands, City of Cape Town, and Overberg region,” SAWS forecaster Samkelo Magwala said.

Rainfall in isolated areas in the West Coast District could reach 50 to 60 millimetres over the next 24 hours, the service warned.
