Three arrested after stolen copper cable was seized in the Northern Cape

Police apprehended three men in the Northern Cape on Wednesday for allegedly stealing copper cables valued at approximately R112,000. Officers in Wrenchville acted on a tip-off and caught the suspects loading the stolen cables onto a truck at a landfill site. A Tata truck and a Nissan bakkie, suspected to have been used in the crime, were confiscated. Police spokesperson Colonel Cherelle Ehlers stated that the suspects are due to appear in court shortly. Ehlers emphasized the importance of addressing crimes related to tampering and theft of essential infrastructure, marking them as priorities for law enforcement in the Northern Cape.
