‘The Damage Was Overwhelming’: Margate Businesses on Brink of Collapse Following Devastating Floods | News24

Business owners in Margate, KwaZulu-Natal, are throwing in the towel after severe flooding caused millions of rand in damage to their businesses.

The owner of the One-Stop Mobile Mechanic shop, Ivor Shead, said he had been left shattered after being forced to close his multimillion-rand workshop after the April floods.

Severe flooding wreaked havoc in the area, leaving behind a trail of infrastructure destruction and claiming the lives of five people.
